As a makeup addict & tester, I'm in constant need for a face maintenance system. Add in the oily-acne-prone face with large pores. Its an absolute nightmare certain days. Having said that, I'm on constant look for face packs, mud packs, face treatment creams, etc. When it accounts for clearing oil from my face & helps in minimizing acne, mud packs win hands down.
So when I got the opportunity to review the Pure & Essential Minerals Dead Sea Mud Mask, I just jumped into it excitedly.
This dead sea mask is laden with 21 essential minerals from the Dead sea and as per their site, it helps in deep cleansing, drawing out excess oils, impurities and toxins for an anti-aging effect; the organic essential oils keep your skin naturally hydrated, adding a softness and glow to the complexion.
Added to the above, it does not contain any harsh chemicals and is animal cruelty free.
The dead sea mask also includes all Natural and Organic ingredients : Pure Dead Sea Mud, Organic Shea Butter, Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Aloe Vera Juice, Organic Vegetable Glycerin, Organic Jojoba Oil, Hickory Bark Extract, Organic Calendula Oil, Eucalyptus Oil, Filtered Water, Xanthan Gum..
The main plus point to this Pure & Essentials Dead Sea Mud mask is that it is less expensive than the dead sea mud pack treatment in spas. Each such treatment would cost more than $60, but this pack has more than 30+ uses to it for just a fraction of the cost.
This dead pack mud mask looks similar to the Glam Glow SuperMud, but does not have the same texture. When the Supermud has a lightly grainy (with those molecules) and thick texture, this one is creamy & a bit runny.
Normally, when I apply masks, I cleanse, scrub & then use the masks. But when I researched above the dead sea mask, others have mentioned that it may irritate sensitive skin.. So not wanting to risk it, I just washed my face with cleansing face wash & applied the mask. It has a deep earthy mint smell and wow, it is super cool.. It sort of reminded me of wet cement :P probably due to the feel it gave.. and it is very cold on the face and keeps the skin cool.. Even though I didn't fully cleanse or scrub, my face tingled a lot.. I mean a very very lot.. it sort of dried away in like 10 minutes and oh boy it sure did take a lot of water and thick washcloth to remove it from my face. I may have put it on a little bit thick.. I finally had to scrape a few places with my nails to remove it from my face.
But once I washed it clear of my face, I could see how smooth & soft my face was. And the pores & acne looked diminished and I felt very very fresh. So my best bet is to try this the first thing in the morning & go about the whole day looking fresh..

ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing. It sounds like a nice facial mask. I find a nice mask both relaxing and invigorating. There is something so satisfying about getting so "ugly" then rinsing it off to reveal lovely skin!

DeleteI'm not a huge fan of mud masks, but I may have to give this one a try.I'm trying to find a good product to minimize my pores and it sounds like this may work. I will definitely use sparingly though!

DeleteI have combination skin and large pores. Until recently I had never tried any kind of 'mask' products - but I recently bought one by Adovia and have been trying it out. Works ok and I am seeing some results - this stuff looks pretty fantastic though. I will have to get this one and compare the two.

ReplyDeleteIt's what you would expect,dead sea mud mask in a container. It looks like mud, it smells like mud. This product is great, I find my skin very cleansed and soft after using it in my weekly applications.
