Book Review - A Thousand Boy Kisses by Tillie Cole

Though I am avid reader who reads at least 2 books a week, I have never written a book review before. I'm an emotional and empathetic person who doesn't just reads a book but lives it out through the pages, feeling euphoric & content when the last page turns. But some books wrench my heart, delve deep down to touch my soul.
One such book is this - "A Thousand Boy Kisses" by Tillie Cole.

The book starts with a dedication: "For believers in true, epic, soul-shattering love. This one's for you."
Never a word has been spoken so true.

One kiss lasts a moment. But a thousand kisses can last a lifetime. One boy. One girl. A bond that is forged in an instant and cherished for a decade. A bond that neither time nor distance can break. A bond that will last forever. Or so they believe.

The storyline revolves around two people. 'Rune Kristiansen', an young Norwegian who moved to Blossom Grove, Georgia and 'Poppy Litchfield', his neighbor girl who simply waits out the storm, to catch a glimpse of a rainbow.. What started at the age of 5 as an innocent friendship, gets evolved to an epic soul stirring love.

It's a world filled with kisses that make your heart burst.
Moonbeam hearts and sunshine smiles.
Best friends and soulmates who belong in each other's arms.

A boy and a girl who burn bright and blindingly beautiful together.

Rune met Poppy as a little boy when he moved next door to her. From the moment he set eyes on her everything clicked into place and the world rearranged itself around them.

Since the day Rune kissed her in the blossom grove, aged eight, there had never been anyone else for him.

“Poppymin, you have me. You’ll always have me.” Forever always..

They were inseparable.
Until they weren't anymore.

Its their journey of their love and the thousand kisses they shared. There really is no adequate way to explain what you're in for when you step inside their world.  The undying strength of the love that Rune and Poppy shared overwhelmed me.  And the ending was very apt.

“Why be miserable when you can be happy? It’s an obvious choice to me.”

The Chapters are written from both Poppy and Rune's perspective. This book not just depicts heartaches, regrets and unyielding love, but also teaches us to celebrate each & every moment of life. This is one of those books that I know will stay with me forever and ever. To quote Tillie, this book is “as special as special can be.”
